Sorry for the extreme lack of activity and updates recently. I've just finished up my next to last quarter at school, and I'm now getting ready for my final quarter.
During the last few months, I've been preparing myself for when I get out into the working world with classes that teach the basics of how to create a business identity, how to freelance properly so you don't get rooked by your client come payday, and how promote your art and skills with confidence in interviews and at conferences. They're all very important skills to learn, especially in today's job market.
I'm really looking forward to my last three months at school. Still, it hasn't really sunken in yet that I'll be completely done in June. After that, getting a job will be the next big goal while doing smaller projects and freelancing on the side until then.
Unfortunately, because my next quarter is going to be so busy with getting ready to spread my wings, I can tell you that I'm probably not going to be very active over the next few months, either. I apologize for those who have been waiting for a bunch of art from me, but DA is going to have to take a passenger's seat to graduation. I can't even promise you that I'll become very active once I graduate, either. It all depends on how fast I get work after getting out, whether it be from freelancing or from a more stable position.
I don't want to scare you guys with saying that you'll never hear from me again after graduation, but I think that the days where I was able to comment on everyone's pieces every day are long gone. As most of you know, I like to give in-depth crits most of the time when I comment, and those take time. I'd rather give one really good comment once in a while as opposed to a hundred one-word comments that hold little meaning.
Just to let you in on what I've been pondering lately, I'm seriously considering killing this account once I graduate in favor of a new one or a blog or something. I haven't decided on what, if anything, I'm going to do yet, but I wouldn't mind starting off with a fresh slate once college is done. Either way, I'll let you all know what's going on when I get closer to that bridge.
Again, sorry for the hiatus in activity. Hope you all are doing well.
Sincerely,
Weatherartist
